Designed for Gardening

It’s the middle of summer and our vegetable garden at the Middle Creek Bungalow is in full bloom, providing food for our family and a bounty for local pollinators.  When you take the time to prepare for it, and the time to notice it, a garden is incredibly full of life.

The practice of gardening has much in common with the practice of good architecture, and the pursuit of happiness.  We designed the addition at Middle Creek to promote all of those by creating three “rooms” along the north side of the lot.  Two of them just happen to be outdoors.  We also carefully designed the form of the building to block or capture cool breezes and held the warmest, sunniest spot in reserve for the vegetable garden.

Planning, patience, and attention to detail are all things which we take pride in.  How can we best use them to connect you to your place in the world?
